About Churchill Wine

Churchill Wine is a boutique small production wine producer based in Sonoma County.

Owner Michael Dolan met Martin Guerrero of Guerrero Fernandez winery two years ago and the Churchill Wine project was born. After being introduced to Martin, and Olga Fernandez, at Wilibees wine shop and simultaneously tasting one of their cabs, Michael knew this would be the winemaker to work with in creating Churchill’s first label, the 2013 Linked Vineyards, Knights Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Martin’s style of winemaking is classic, pure, and from the heart. He takes pride in his wine as being absent of taste-altering chemicals and additives, and places a high value on representing the true expression of select fruit. With his life long relationships and strategic alliances with area grape growers, he produces some of the best hand-crafted wine in our area.

Churchill Wine’s 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, sourced from Linked Vineyards in Knights Valley, California with a limited production of only 66 cases. This beauty spent 36 months in new French oak and has 2 more years to develop a further subtlety and complexity while aging in-bottle at the winery. The 2013 Churchill Cab is an opulent bottle of wine, reminiscent of the early days of Cab production with a gentle nod towards the California vibe of bigger fruit and more body. Not necessarily boasting, but strongly representing, flavors of dry-aged fruit, black currant, minerality, dark cocoa, and a little more than just a kiss of oak. This wine isn’t for the strictly-Pinot fanatic, although it wouldn’t hurt any serious wine fan much to step outside their comfort zone and give this guy a try. We hope you enjoy this offering as much as we do.

Churchill Wine is also working on a Russian River Pinot project, getting ready to bottle in the coming months, look out for the release!
