Trent’s Recommendations

We started the #SupportOurWineries campaign to help collect and share all the ways we can support wineries during this crazy, unprecedented, and uncertain time. The response has been overwhelming! I’ve been inspired watching the wine community come together in support of what we love. Even though the winery doors are closed, there’s no reason you can’t grab yourself something delicious while you’re locked up at home.

While you won’t have a problem finding amazing wine across the hundreds of wineries on the site, I thought I’d share some of my favorites that I’ve been sipping on and enjoying while being socially distant. This is not sponsored content, this is just a glimpse into some of the wines I’m vibing with these days.

Trent, @thesfwineguy

Anthony & Alissa are up to something special at Cruess. I’m still tasting these elegant and nuanced wines in my dreams! While I rarely try to land on the same wine twice, I find myself gravitating to these three. They’re offering free shipping, so don’t miss out!

  1. Their Roussanne was my first roussanne, and it is everything. Notes of sweet pear, lemon, and walking into your favorite bakery. Endless and smooth finish.
  2. The Rose of Grenache has me singing Strawberry Fields Forever (with a little minerality). It’s super light and very balanced. Could drink for days. Super impressive for how young the wine is!
  3. The 2015 Pinot Noir is showing off in the year 2020! Think beautiful cherry and flowers. I won’t tell you that it made me drool a little bit, but it made me drool a little bit.

Kenefick Ranch

While I’ve only had the chance to taste one of their wines, I’m definitely using #SupportOurWineries to get my hands on a few others! I’m also telling you to try the 2013 Petite Sirah.

I can see it now. You’re looking for something dark. You’re looking for something bold. You’re looking for something this Petite Sirah. Blackberry jam. Spices. Yes.

Inman Family Wines

Kathleen Inman is super intentional about how and where she makes her wine. Plots a little bit to the left or to the right and you’re getting very different expressions of the same varietal. #Terrior. Because she’s offering deals on 3 bottles, I’d recommend you pick up a trio of Pinot Noir or Rose, with one from each of her estate, biodynamic vineyards: OGV, Sexton Rose, Pratt Vine Hill. Taste them side by side. You’ll be glad you did.

Make sure to attend a virtual tasting with Kathleen and learn the story of how Endless Crush got it’s name. Just make sure your SO isn’t around or you’ll really have to step up your anniversary gift game!
